First of all rockband "Opium" apologizes to all who came to hear our music at the festival "Easter in Kosmach 2008". The performance of the rockband at this festival hasn't occurred due to reasons, that weren't dependent on us. And in this article we want to express our opinion on the organization of "Easter in Kosmach 2008" and tell something and explain to our fans.

Therefore, performance of the band on festival was scheduled for April 30. However, many technical issues, particularly in technical and stage rider, domestic issues, etc remained unclear. Numerous contacts with numerous event organizers finally ensured the band that technical support and backstage were going to be well (although we had no any detailed list of stage hardware support, we still had no answer on that question. "Guys, do not worry, everything you need is going to be" - that is the most optimistic phrase from phone conversations). Despite the uncertainty (unknown living location, parking place for the transport, etc.) the band decided to go and play at the festival.

April 29, at 21-00, we were informed that April 30 declared national mourning and the concert program won't be. During a telephone conversation with the organizers we agreed to work at the festival May 2 after 19-00.

In evening May 1 during a telephone conversation we got confirmation that all agreements are still in force and rockband is expected next day at 19-00.

Rockband arrived in Kosmach at 19-10 (the delay was caused by the terrible mountain roads, and a half-hour traveling from the village center to the stage - no one could explain to us how could we drive there).

When we had arrived to the stage at last we heard as it turned out the final song of the festival. There were no any stage and sound equipment that is required for our performance. The phone call had disclosed that most organizers of Kosmach were somewhere but not at the festival, but "soon a man will come and solve everything." At this time we heard from the stage words of gratitude to the organizers, something about the closing of the festival bla bla bla...

We had waited for 20-25 minutes for the responsible person ("He will come soon, it's not easy because of puddle all around..."). During this time, stage technical stuff began to turn off the sound equipment and demount the stage. We asked them to wait until the responsible person tells us what is going on. But all we had heard instead that Somebody made a deal with Someone "this afternoon" that "pop-singers" would close the festival, "everybody has already driven home" and they won't do anything without further directions ("sorry, guys").

Responsible guy was 20 years old. At first time he embarrassed to come closer and solved something by phone. Soon we had found from the heard parts of his phone conversation that he was our "responsible person". Now it was clear that this guy couldn't solve anything, "everybody has already driven home", "Somebody made a deal with Someone" and once again "sorry, guys"... Then the guy offered to treat us with a beer because of such a stupid situation... Ridiculous.

After this point all known phones of organizers were disabled.

No one has given us any explanations so far. And probably not going to.

We are not ashamed of our mistake. The band was driving for performance, to work for people and wanted to show and prove that we do live not only for material satisfaction. We wanted to contribute to the cultural action. Wanted to join the celebration. Wanted to meet some proper attitude to us.

We're sorry because of stupid and irresponsible attitude to the musicians. After all, we heard that other artists were diddled in Kosmach in the same way as we were. Culture was culturally diddled during the cultural event. It's pun.
